The timeline

Iliria and I met on an old forum called Elftown. It was weird, wonderful, and then one day it was gone — along with years of stories, art, and people we loved.

Most moved on. I didn’t. Out of equal parts stubbornness and an art degree I decided to actually use, I built Mythralis.

This isn’t for everyone. It’s for the weirder souls — the artists, the roleplayers, the romantics who like their shadows dark and their stories dramatic. Think of it as social media, but with more velvet capes and fewer influencers.

So welcome. Sit down, join in, and please — don’t crash the site.

Once upon a time, before social media looked like an endless mall, there was a little corner of the internet called Elftown. That’s where Iliria and I met. It was weird, obscure, and full of people who’d rather write about dragons than do their homework. It was perfect.

And then — poof. Gone. The site crashed, and with it went years of writing, art, roleplays, and friendships. We lost not just our work, but entire little universes, and a few people we loved dearly. Watching it vanish was like someone torching the library of Alexandria, except nerdier and with more elf avatars and smut.

Most people moved on. I (Ailis) am not most people. I am stubborn and  on occasion, very, very petty. So instead of crying into the void forever, I decided to put my degree work. If no one else was going to build us a place, I bloody well would. Thus, Mythralis was born.

Mythralis is not for everyone. It is for the weirder people on the planet. The storytellers, the artists, the roleplayers, the hopeless romantics who like their shadows a little darker and their forums a little moodier. It’s for the ones who never really fit into ordinary spaces, who thrive on strange ideas and beautiful nonsense.

This is our rebellion. Our sanctuary. Our social media, but with more velvet capes and fewer influencers selling toothpaste.

So, welcome. Pull up a chair. Stay as long as you like. Just don’t crash the site — we’ve been through that once already.

MYTHRALIS

Born from nostalgia. Fueled by art. Powered by pettiness.

OUR ORIGIN STORY

The Lorekeepers

Ailis Mairead nic a Ghobhainn

Class: Historian | Alignment: Chaotic Romantic

Core Traits
  • Film Devourer: Consumes cinema and documentaries as though they were trail rations.
  • Working Artist: I like cameras
  • Caffeine Reliant: Powered by strong Italian espresso; withdrawal may summon demons.
  • Highland Coo Cuddler: Professionally trained. Will accept payment in woolly hugs.
  • Wildean Scribe: Believes I can channel Oscar Wilde. Reality remains unverified.
  • Likes my men the way I like my coffee: Tall, strong and Italian (with a dash of cream.)

Unusual Habits
  • Finds relaxation in terrifying horror films. (Therapists remain divided.)
  • Holds an ancestral, unyielding loathing for Atlanta Airport. It is not an opinion — it is a personality trait.
  • Still mourns the burning of the library of Alexandria.

Roleplay Specialisation
  • Genres: Dark romance, gothic fantasy, high adventure.

Weakness:
  • Lawful Neutral men with tragic backstories and blue eyes. (Resistance roll always fails.)
  • Limited shelf space for books, art supplies, and impulsive antique purchases.
  • Exceptionally picky about RP partners.

The Lorekeepers

Iliria de Pointe du Lac de Lioncourt

Class: Writer  | Alignment: Romance Gremlin

Core Traits
  • Worldbuilder Extraordinaire: If you leave me alone too long, I will create three kingdoms, a tragic backstory and a pantheon of gods.
  • Emotionally Invested: I get attached to characters like they're real people.... because they are.

Unusual Habits
  • I will sometimes write at 3 am with the emotional intensity of a victorian ghost.
  • I have been known to dramatically whisper dialogue to myself.

Roleplay Specialisation
  • Epic Fantasy & Romance: I specialise in making gods, fae, vampires and mortals fall in love (and/or betray each other spectacularly)
  • High emotion: Angst, longing, star-crossed lovers... if it makes your heart ache, I'm there.

Weakness:
  • I am physically incapable of writing a "short reply."
  • If you ask me to choose between two love interests for my characters... expect me to make bad life choices.

Our Values

Respect the myth, respect each other.
Creativity over clout.
Weirdness > normality.
Dark romance >toothpaste influencers.

If I had to crawl to you, I would—without dignity, without pause, and without shame. Let the world laugh; laughter has never carried me the way your name does. I would drag myself to you, bleeding, breathless, broken, because life without you is the only humiliation I refuse to bear.

And I would do it again. Again and again, until eternity itself tired of watching. Call it madness, call it folly, call it ruin if you will. I call it love—and love, in its finest form, is always worth crawling for.

Iliria

Mythralis is not for everyone. It is for the weirder people on the planet — the storytellers, the romantics, the roleplayers, the ones who thrive in liminal spaces.

So pull up a chair, light a candle, and add your voice to the myth.

If you know what Elftown was, you’re already among family....
