Welcome, travellers, wanderers, roleplayers, and digital phantoms who have somehow stumbled into Mythralis. Allow me to introduce myself before you decide whether to stay, flee, or curse me in Latin. I am Ailis. One of the site’s architects, though “architect” is far too professional a word for what was essentially an act of emotional vandalism. You see, when Elftown collapsed into the void (for the millionth time), I did the only logical thing: I built my own site out of grief, nostalgia, and a stubborn refusal to let internet magic die quietly.
By day, I am a historian and photographer. By night, I am a caffeine-fuelled insomniac, a collector of ruins, and an unrepentant dramatist. I studied art history in Florence, where I learned that Caravaggio is not only more interesting than half the men I’ve dated but also a better conversationalist. I can quote Wilde with confidence and Virgil with hesitation, though I assure you the hesitation is purely theatrical. I watch horror films for relaxation, which probably says everything about my coping mechanisms. I have built my life upon the twin pillars of self-deprecation and overcomplication. My humour is both armour and weapon: I will joke about myself before you can, and yet, I’ll still leave the sting sharp enough to draw blood if needed. I am, in short, that dangerous cocktail of wit and fragility that makes people curious but also very tired.
My weaknesses? Well, confession is a kind of theatre, isn’t it? Lawful Neutral men with tragic backstories and piercing blue eyes; strong espressos at ungodly hours; and anyone audacious enough to lecture me about philosophy while wearing a good coat. I travel compulsively and I create digital empires when I should be minding my own business. You may find me wandering between forums like a ghost in a ruined abbey, wine in hand, half pretending to be in control and half hoping someone notices I’m not. Now before I embarrass myself further, I welcome you to Mythralis. Make yourselves at home, and do try not to burn the place down before I’ve finished polishing the marble. Thanks.
